Music, one of few things on planet earth that we don’t necessarily need to survive, but yet can’t seem to live without. It’s the food of soul. We may need to feed our stomach with protein, fats, carbs vitamins and minerals. But our soul needs a diet of different sorts; one of rhythm, drops, ballads, harmony and lyrics. We all have favorite songs that we love coming back to. But what we as people can’t get enough is new music.
We love a new song that stimulates our hunger for a new experience; the novelty of hearing sounds and a vocalist say something that we haven’t quite heard said like that before. It’s the euphoric beauty of new music and what it does for our lives.
New Song (Track) Just Dropped
Front page news! That new song from one of one of your favorite artists just got released (or maybe leaked). You click on a link and take a listen and it’s just kind of song you never knew you needed in your life; it’s on repeat for who knows how long.
There is just something about new music that brings a rush of energy and excitement.
The different characteristics of this new song refuel your already abundant love of music. The track has all the traits of a great new song; you haven’t quite heard a drop like that, or the instrument choice in this song is innovating, or the vocal performance really gets you going. Let’s take this moment to thank God for the amazing gift of music!
Sound That Moves You
For dancers or artists in general, new music is a boon for us. For a dancer to hear new music that not only inspires them, but inspires them move (dance) is part of why we do this. A song that speaks to us and allows us to express what the music is telling us. The music lets us express our vulnerability, our personality all the way down to our core.
New music for anyone in general is great for emotions and relating. What differs with dancers is that they express it visually and share the display of their hearts. For people, hearing a new song that speaks to us; new music that we can relate to and new music that emotionally affects lets us feel a bit more awakened, more alive.
The Soundtrack To Your Life
So because of the fast paced, hyper attention world we now live in; A lot of new music gets thrown at the world. A steady stream of new music is of one of the ways artists can stay top on of mind; other than course making good lasting music (but that’s a topic for another day).
We shouldn’t forget that one of the reasons new music is so euphoric is because of the penitential of how it’ll impact us; the impressions, emotions and memories it can create.
The impact on a new song comes from its lasting power. And we only get that experience from good music and taking the time to really understand the music. So remember to live with the new music you get.
One of the great things about an album is that it creates that same lasting impression a new song can make, but it takes up a couple of levels and makes it a full length experience.
You can’t catch all the details, nuances, sounds, subtext and messages without hearing an album multiple times, and it’s the same with a new song. So yes I urge you to go out and find new music, but live with it at little. Get to know to the great new music you’ve just found, it’ll be the start of a beautiful relationship.
Please Don’t Stop The New Music
There will always be new music. There are infinite numbers of ways people can use notes, timbres, chords, rhythms, samples, vocals, effects, bass lines, harmonies, and sounds in various ways to make a song, so humanity will always have new music to look forward to. It’s thanks to God and all the music makers of the world. So to any and all music makers reading this; lets push to make not only new music but new music that’s euphoric to people ears; new music that’s great.
Good music can make us feel like anything is possible, it’s largely has this almost unmistakable yet hard to describe feeling, it’s just is what it is. And this euphoric feeling is in all good music. The feeling is just more pronounced with new music because of the novelty of it. Sort of like meeting a new lover, you get the rush of a new experiences and feelings, but like all great relationships (and great songs); if the loving is good and you connect, you’ll come back for more.
So when you hear that new song, be thankful for that great feeling it is giving you and bask in the effect it has on you so you can fully take in the music; truly experience the euphoria of new music.
