We’re excited to share WGP’s first dance short film; the “Here Dance Short Film”. Combining storytelling, choreography, and music.

The short film was created alongside some great people. I was impressed, proud and inspired by the energy and talent that was brought into this. It’s a beautiful thing to bring together people of different walks of life and talents to execute a vision. There is a message that I’ll leave to the audience to decide to take from it and also stay tuned to the credits to see the the after story and added visuals.

A story about playing hard and working hard and finding that balance. About finishing what you started and what is inside of you that is yearning to live…it’s to taking that action. Enjoy life, enjoy your work.

Again thank you to everyone who came to the party. There a list of the names of the people there below in the credits section. You should know of the names of the awesome people that were their just don’t go stalking these wonderful folks and hope you enjoy the dance short film. Subscribe to stay updated and like the video if you enjoyed it and share it with someone you know who would enjoy it as well.

I felt I’ve talked about my experience enough on the “Here Dance Short Film” on other posts but I’ll layout the process from Pre-Production to Production and Post production and lay out of the credits of the people that were involved in creating this dance short film.

When I first heard the “Here” By Alessia Cara. I was super moved by the song, I was like who is this chick, her vocals are dope and the storytelling in the record is crazy and flows so well from beginning  to end. The Song was killing the radio game and charts in the summer and onward and it was well deserved; it’s an amazing song. I was pleased to find out the details of the track and also that writing came from the artist herself which is cool as well.
Take listen if your not familiar with the song. It’s a dope record with lush smooth vocals and thoughtful storytelling.
So after hearing the song a couple a times, I was having these ideas and concepts float around head and it did’t take me much time to decide that I wanted to do something special with this song, it was just affected me to strongly to not do something. So I choreographed it in two sessions and then wrote out a treatment for the project shortly afterwards. I brought in people that I knew and also new artists I met along the way,  as I finished up smaller projects. Which was dope how that worked meeting new creatives in the first two weeks of pre-production; happened naturally which was cool. We then had dance rehearsals, and a meeting and a pre-camera work session. We also promoted a party that was calling for extras to party like any other party all in the name of telling a story and creating art.

Production:

See these posts for more info on how the production was.

To add a thought from the above posts. It was interesting being a organize fast paced production (like that. You really don’t have time to review footage in this production so that’s where the pre-production stage helps you and we got enough shots to tell the story. Also any hurdles you meet, you have to swiftly deal with it and move on. Giving decisive direction, creative thinking and a good team will allow productions to go smoothly and this production a good  example of that. Good times using prior experience and learning new things all while creating art.

Post-Production:

Editing is always my favorite part of the production process and where’s the storytelling takes place from all the writing, planning, rehearsals and production, the editing is what brings all the pieces together. And this was a fun one to do there were a lot of different routes that could of been taken but have good structure and sticking to what you plan in pre-production allows you go through process smoothly and that’s what happened here. I used the vision I had to craft the story and I’m proud of what I created all of course with input from the team. Which was nice, someone might see something you might not of thought of. From tying the sequences together, mixing the music, coloring  it, and putting the final smoothing touches; I loved created this piece; the “Here Dance Short Film”.

A Project (“Here Dance Short Film”) That Represents Our Movement
